Effective date: 2026-10-21. This update describes browser language and theme preferences, direct advertising inquiries, sponsored placements, advertising placeholders and PostHog analytics.
What we collect
DictationList has no accounts and no comment sections, and it asks you for nothing in order to read it. You can contact us by email or use the submission form. That form posts to Web3Forms, a form-delivery service that forwards the submission to this site’s inbox and keeps a copy on its own servers for a limited retention period; see the Web3Forms privacy policy for their terms. What reaches us is whatever you typed into the form (the tool’s name, its website and the details you chose to fill in) plus your email address if you chose to leave one. An address left there is used only to ask you a follow-up question about that submission; it is not added to any mailing list and is not used for anything else.
Language preference
On your first visit, we read your browser language preferences to choose a supported language. Your chosen language is saved in browser local storage (dl-lang) for future visits. You can change it in the navigation, and clearing this site’s browser data removes the saved preference.
Theme preference
By default the site follows your system light/dark setting. After you tap the theme button in the navigation, your choice (light or dark) is saved in browser local storage (dl-theme) and used on later visits. Clearing this site’s browser data removes the saved preference and the site follows the system again.
Advertising
The site shows labeled direct advertising placements. Some placements feature a sponsored tool listing and link to that tool’s page on this site; empty placements link to our email address with a prefilled inquiry. They use the site’s own styles and load without third-party advertising scripts or advertising cookies.
When you email us about advertising, we receive your email address and the product, preferred dates, budget and other information you choose to send. We use this information to reply, agree on the placement and manage the advertising relationship. Links from a sponsored placement to a tool page on this site stay on DictationList; from there, links to a vendor’s website take you off this site, where their privacy policy applies.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint browsers and does not collect personal data. See cloudflare.com/web-analytics for details.
We also use PostHog (US region) to collect anonymous usage data such as page views, page leaves and interaction events like clicks; each event is tagged with this site’s name. PostHog stores a random anonymous identifier in a cookie and in your browser’s local storage to tell visits apart. We do not create personal profiles for visitors or link this data to your identity. Session recording is turned off, so your screen and interactions are not recorded. PostHog only loads on the production site. See the PostHog privacy policy.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web server, Cloudflare may log requests, including IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention. These logs are retained according to Cloudflare’s own policy.
