attunz is a macOS dictation app from attunz Labs. It uses the current app and project as context to shape what you dictate, so email, chat and code each come out in a different form, and it remembers the names, terms, project context and writing habits you use so later dictation reuses them. While you are away from the Mac it runs a "dream" pass that extracts new terms, merges duplicates and updates project context; everything it sorted is viewable, editable and deletable the next day. Audio, transcripts and memories stay on the machine, and the app can run offline when only local models are enabled. The download is free with no sign-up.

Pros

  • Remembered names, terms, project context and writing habits are all viewable, editable and deletable
  • Audio, transcripts and memories stay on the Mac; offline operation when only local models are used
  • Free with no sign-up or subscription; works in most places you can type and skips password fields

Cons

  • macOS 14.0+ only, and the site does not list which speech models or languages are supported
  • The privacy claims hold only for local models; enabling a cloud model sends data to that service
  • No published pricing page, changelog or docs beyond the home page FAQ
