Koe

Koe (声) is an MIT-licensed background voice input tool for Apple Silicon Macs, written in Objective-C with a Rust core and shipping at roughly 19 MB. Press the trigger key — Fn by default, in hold, tap-to-toggle or double-tap mode — speak, and a floating pill shows interim recognition before the corrected text is pasted into the focused app. Recognition runs on Doubao, Qwen, GLM or MiMo in the cloud, or on-device with Apple Speech, MLX Qwen3-ASR models or sherpa-onnx; correction runs on OpenAI, Anthropic, a compatible gateway or a local MLX model. Configuration, the correction prompts and the dictionary are plain files in ~/.koe that take effect on the next hotkey press, and up to nine prompt templates can rewrite a result after the fact. Sessions are logged to a local SQLite file.
